Professional Experience
My career has encompassed written communications, technical art, and online communications. I initially majored in Technical Architecture, and then Fine Arts before my work for the college newspaper led me to a career in publishing. From 1983-87 I worked on an array of tasks from typesetting to layout and design to paste-up, and assisting with technical production. In 1987 I landed my first official editing position with a monthly trade journal, that allowed a cross between technical art (designing each month’s issues) and editing.
Since 1994, I have focused more on technical writing and business development. My current position at Imagine One allows me to integrate graphic design, technical writing, and editing as I assist in developing corporate strategies and submission packages to win Government contracts. I was named Associate Fellow of STC in 2008, was a candidate for STC Treasurer in 2009, and in 2010 was International Technical Communications Competition Manager.
